Inflammatory skin disease
Lecturer: Prof. Dr. Ralf Ludwig
In this seminar we will focus on clinical presentation, diagnosis and current treatment options of autoimmune skin blistering diseases. Pathogenic immunoglobulins that are directed against skin proteins are tested in vitro for their binding efficacy and neutrophil modulatory activities as well as their skin split formation characteristics.
Practical skills:
- IgG Purification
- Immunofluorescence
- Ex vivo split formation
- Neutrophil isolation and activation
- FACS techniques
Qualification:
- understanding the pathogenesis of auto-antibody driven diseases
- individual presentation of relevant literature by participants
- development and optimization of diagnostic techniques in autoimmune skin diseases
- working with human material
Allocation of credit and grading by:
- Oral presentation and written report
